If you are looking for quotations for court construction, repair or maintenance, we recommend you use a SAPCA - Sport and Play Construction Association - member. Many funders including the Lawn Tennis Association will insist on this. A list of SAPCA members can be found on their website and you can search the list by both sport and geographical area. It is also recommended to get three quotations for any major works. You will also find that talking to local clubs about construction companies that have worked for them will be a useful source of information and reassurance. Cambs LTA contacts can point you in the right direction should you require any further advice.
A number of bodies provide grant funding to Places to Play across Cambridgeshire. If you have a project that encourages participation or you need to upgrade your facilities, why not see if there is help available?
Last year, a new initiative was started by Seniors Tennis GB (STGB) in association with the LTA, designed to encourage more adults over 35 years old to play more tennis more often. The aim was to support ideas which would encourage adults to take up tennis through allocating £500 in grant aid for the club or facility to help develop programmes. Overall this was very successful, with a few lessons learnt, so we are repeating the exercise in 2016, taking these lessons into account.
It's very easy. Simply come up with a plan that focuses on encouraging take-up of tennis by adults over the age of 35 who are either entirely new to tennis or who have moved away from the game for various reasons.
