On Saturday 30 June, in very warm conditions our 12 and Under boys had to face a strong Essex team and although they played competitively, Essex proved too hard to overcome. In order to qualify for the semi's, the team needed to beat Bedfordshire and after winning two singles matches, it all rested on the doubles. After a few momentum swings, the doubles pair, Ryan Parkins and Ganesh Mullaparthi, squeezed a win 11-9 in the deciding tie-break. On Sunday morning the team faced Middlesex and once again the boys put on a strong performance, but were defeated. In the 3rd/4th play off, the boys played Norfolk and after a superb performance by the doubles pair, Sam Slater and Ganesh Mullaparthi, the boys secured 3rd place. Well done to the team for their determination and competitive play.

These kids should be treated for the hard work that they have put in their game. I feel that each of them has the passion for what they are doing and I think that it is a good way of putting your heart in an activity that makes you feel satisfied. And look at the smiles of these kids, they look like they enjoy each other's company as well. I used to play a sport before as well. I must say that being able to do so allowed me to learn a lot of things. I am sure that they will also learn a lot of lessons along their journey.
