On Tuesday 4 July at Wimbledon, Sue Rich received the Aegon British Tennis Award for Outstanding Achievement recognising her service and dedication to tennis over 40 years.
Sue was initially nominated for a county award and then moved on to regional honours before being selected for this national award. Sue coaches at the Cambridge Lawn Tennis Club in Cambridge and works with county squads and promising junior players at the Hills Road Sports and Tennis Centre in Cambridge. Her commitment to working with young tennis players to help them reach their full potential and to nurture their love of the game was recognised in an awards ceremony at the Wimbledon Championships hosted by Andrew Castle. Her award was presented by HRH The Duchess of Gloucester herself a very keen tennis fan. Sue said: “I am absolutely delighted to be given this British Tennis Award from the LTA and it is wonderful to be recognised for all the hard work and dedication I have put into tennis over numerous years. I hope it will inspire many people to help the game to grow and help players reach their potential”.
