On Saturday 30 June, in very warm conditions our 12 and Under boys had to face a strong Essex team and although they played competitively, Essex proved too hard to overcome. In order to qualify for the semi's, the team needed to beat Bedfordshire and after winning two singles matches, it all rested on the doubles. After a few momentum swings, the doubles pair, Ryan Parkins and Ganesh Mullaparthi, squeezed a win 11-9 in the deciding tie-break. On Sunday morning the team faced Middlesex and once again the boys put on a strong performance, but were defeated. In the 3rd/4th play off, the boys played Norfolk and after a superb performance by the doubles pair, Sam Slater and Ganesh Mullaparthi, the boys secured 3rd place. Well done to the team for their determination and competitive play.

The GB teams 35s - 85s age groups have been announced for the forthcoming 2018 ITF Seniors World Team Championships to be played in Ulm, Germany, 12-18 August.
We are very proud of Teresa Catlin who has been selected to play for GB in the Women's 45s teams, alongside B Griffiths, M Oldham and J Shepherd. We wish her great success and hope she has a great trip. Our girls had a tough start on the Saturday facing a strong Essex team and despite some great performances, they were unable to defeat Essex, Next up were Bedfordshire and they needed to win this to get into the semi-finals. After the singles matches, Cambs had a 2-1 lead but after putting up a good fight in the doubles, the girls secured their place in the semi-finals. On Sunday morning the girls were up against a strong Suffolk team and with the match all square on 2 rubbers each, it all depended on a tie break doubles shoot out. After an excellent win by Isabelle Havard and Marennah Prempeh, Cambs were into the final where they had to face Essex for the second time. After some very competitive play and with the girls showing great commitment, the girls achieved a fantastic second place. Well done to Isabelle Havard, Sophie Tjurina, Marennah Prempeh and Gabby Zailer-Fletcher.
