Next month Cambridge residents will have the chance to relive another of the country's iconic triumphs when the Davis Cup Trophy tour rolls into the city.
Following Great Britain's win over Belgium in last year's final, which featured Andy Murray, brother Jamie and Kyle Edmund, the trophy has been touring the country in celebration of that achievement. The 14-year-old Horseheath starlet, who trains at Culford School Tennis Academy, had always wanted to star on the famous lawn courts at SW19, and follow in the footsteps of the likes of Andy Murray and Roger Federer. And his opportunity finally came last week, with Wendelken progressing beyond the regional rounds to make it all the way to the national event where he beat Alex Solonenko 6-2, 7-6.
