U10 and U12 boys regional competitions at the David Lloyd Centre were won by Alex who now goes onto the National finals in London in December. Congratulations Alex
Mia has won the U10 Regional competition at the David Lloyd Centre in Cambridge and will now go onto the National finals in London in December. Well done Mia.
Well done to Joseph who has won the U8 local and regional competitions which took place at the David Lloyd Centre in Cambridge earlier this month. Joseph will now go onto play at the National finals in London in December.
Harry, 9 and Under County Player, has had a very success Autumn. Harry won the David Lloyd Club Championships and also the Regional Club Championships and he now goes to the Nationals in December 2018. Harry has also won both the Bromley and West Bridgeford Grade 3 half term tournaments. At West Bridgeford Harry beat Max in the final who had come 8th in Germany U9 Nationals in the Summer. Well Done Harry.
Aditi is currently doing the county training in Cambridge which she thoroughly enjoys. She won her local club championship in Peterborough and qualified for the regional which were held in Cambridge. She won David Lloyd Club Regional Club championship in Cambridge and will be playing in the National Club Championship in London on 2nd December 2018. She loves playing tennis and is looking forward to playing the tournament.
In addition, this year she won "Grantham Junior Open 2018" and "East Winter County Tour - David Lloyd Cambridge - Indoors - 8&U Boys & Girls". The 16 & Under girls team, Megan, Chaaya, Laurie and Lydia, drew 2 all with Essex, Yorkshire and Leicestershire in the 12 Counties round 1 matches on Sunday 4 November in Corby, There were some excellent wins from both Megan and Lydia. In fact all the girls matches finished 2 all and in count back of sets Cambridgeshire finished equal second. Great start.
Cambridgeshire boys 16 and under team, Yujiro, Zach, James and Darius, played superbly at the 12 Counties tournament at Corby on Sunday 4 November beating Essex 3/1, Yorkshire 4/0 and Leicestershire 4/0 to get the County off to a winning start in the 12 Counties at Corby.
Delighted to report and congratulate Teresa Catlin, who plays for Cambs County Seniors, 35s and 40s County tennis ladies teams, about the fantastic wins she had with the rest of her 45s Ladies team (Michelle Oldham, Jo Shepherd, Barbara Griffiths) who represented Great Britain at the ITF Young Seniors World Team Championships in Miami, Florida, USA (35s Men and Ladies, 40s Men and Ladies and 45s Men and Ladies teams) 23-27 October 2018. Teresa won all her singles matches against Argentina, Netherlands and Turkey in their group and then went on to beat USA, in the semi-finals but were sadly defeated 2-1 by France in the Finals of the Margaret Court Cup (45s Ladies) winning the Silver Medal. Teresa also played in the individual 45s singles and ladies doubles at the ITF Young Seniors World Championships in Miami, Florida, USA.”
