On Sat 16th November, Cambridgeshire’s U10 Boys and Girls teams went to Corby to compete in the 12 counties event against Nottinghamshire, Herefordshire & Worcestershire and Bedfordshire.
The Boys team of Harry, Jianzhou, Arnas and Mason started superbly beating Bedfordshire 4-0. Another excellent performance saw the boys beat H&W 4-0 with Mason coming through a tough 3 set match. The last match against Nottinghamshire the boys won 3-1 with victories for Harry, Jianzhou and Arnas.
The Girls team comprised Bibiana, Thomasina, Ellie and Olivia. A tough start against Bedfordshire saw the girls 1-1 after the first round with a strong victory from Bibiana, then Olivia and Ellie played superbly to secure a 3-1 win. The second match against H&W saw the girls go 2-0 down despite a fighting performance from Thomasina. Olivia and Ellie again stepped up and secured a 2-2 draw. The final match of the day against Notts saw a walkover for Bibiana, another fighting performance from Thomasina that resulted in a victory this time and again Ellie and Olivia contributing good wins, meaning a 4-0 victory.
Overall the boys came first and girls were tied with Herefordshire and Worcester but just pipped them with the extra match won to also come first.
Excellent performances from the County Teams.

Each team had 16 players, both boys and girls. Everybody played 8 matches each which consisted of a 10 point tiebreak. Overall the Cambridge team performed very well with an overall score of 104 matches to 24 matches. Everybody competed exceedingly well – fighting for every point, looking to out rally and always behaving in an exemplary way. They were all very excited to play for their County and a real credit.
Special mention to Tiberius, Etienne, Martin, May, Navya and Aditi who won all of their matches.
