The Cambridgeshire boys team of Harry Wendelken, Charlie James, Nick Ghaznavi, Vincent Chen, Alex Wardley, Jan Ortonowski, Zach Cox and Sam Clark were in Norwich and the Easton Tennis Centre for this years U18 County Cup group 4b.

The Cambridge Boys got off to a winning start, beating Oxfordshire 8 rubbers to 1. Zach the youngest in the team playing in his first U18 county cup struggled a little against his older and more experienced opponent Ned Batstone, losing out 2-6, 0-6. The rest of the singles line up had slightly better of it, all winning in straight sets. A fantastic first day for the boys, setting the mark to the other teams. In the other result Norfolk beat Wiltshire 6-3.

Day 2 and the Cambs boy took on Wiltshire. The day started very well with Jan (6) and Alex (5) winning their matches. Jan with a clinical win 6-3 6-3 against Thomas Dearsley and Alex holding on well after being 5-1 up in set one beating Edred Opie. 7-6 6-4. Up next was Vincent (4) and Nick (3). Vincent, playing his first U18 county cup singles match struggled a little with form but battled hard to win against Ethan Miller 6-4 6-3. Nick put on a very disciplined and consistent display in taking out Lewis Hunnisett 6-1 6-1. Rounding off the singles at the top of the order saw Charlie (2) and Harry (1) win through. Charlie 6-3 6-4 against tricky customer Alex Heaps and Harry 6-1 7-5 seeing off tough moments versus Yusuke Tamaki. Into the doubles and after yesterday's epic win, Sam and Jan took to the court again against Matthew Daniels and Henrik Humphries with a straight-forward win 6-0 6-4.
